Godrej Industries (Chemicals) is one of the oldest businesses of the Godrej Group. Today, we are one of India’s leading manufacturers of oleochemicals, surfactants, derivatives of oleochemicals and speciality chemicals. We manufacture and market over 100 chemicals for use in more than 24 applications. We are expanding our reach globally and our products are exported to over 80 countries in North and South America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities are located in India at Valia, Gujarat and Ambernath, Maharashtra.

A diverse portfolio
Creating a wide range of oleochemical & derivatives for use in home and personal care, pharmaceutical, food industries, lubricants, textiles, etc.
Fatty Alcohols
We made the first move in manufacturing of long-chain fatty alcohols (C12 to C22) in India, and continue to be leaders in the C16-C18 (Ceto-Stearyl) range, used in home and personal care, pharmaceuticals, etc. in this product category.
We have also established a niche in manufacturing and supplying the whole range of Behenyl alcohols (C22) for use in oil fields, paper, and personal care industries.
Fatty Acids
We have pioneered the manufacturing of the world’s first vegetable oil-based soap using Fatty Acids in 1918. Today, we manufacture a range of C16 and C18 Fatty Acids, namely Palmitic and the whole range of Stearic and Oleic acids, having diverse applications in textiles, rubber, polymers, pharma, foods & feeds, and personal care products. Over the last decade, we have diversified our portfolio to include high purity specialty Fatty Acids (C22) derived from mustard oil, namely Behenic and Erucic Acids.
Surfactants
We were pioneers in manufacturing Alpha Olefin Sulphonate (AOS) in India, and continue to be the leaders in developing formulations and applications with the same. The unique properties of AOS are useful in a variety of applications in industries ranging from home and personal care to polymer, oilfield, and construction chemicals additives.
Over the last decade, we have also started producing Fatty Alcohol based Surfactants, namely Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES). They are extensively used in the home and personal care industry and also in textiles, polymers, etc.
Glycerine
Glycerine produced from vegetable oil, also known as vegetable glycerin, is an oleochemical used in a variety of applications, including food, pharma, personal care products, and a whole range of other industrial applications like paints, resins, and even explosives.
Our quality meets both domestic and international regulatory requirements, including that of the Pharmacopeias, Food Codex and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, as also the various Cosmetic Directives (EU, USA, Japan & India).
